It has been stated that a well-rested family is a happy family. I have experienced first hand the struggles of sleepless nights and the relief that comes when little ones are finally achieving healthy sleep patterns. When our daughter was born, we experienced several sleepless months, which felt like years as we tried to “get through it.” However, it was not until our son was born that we truly felt the mounting stress of months and months of nightly wake-ups and early morning awakenings. We started to feel more desperate as our son turned ten months old and we were still waiting for him to “sleep thru the night” consistently.
We tried numerous approaches to try and work thru the sleep problems ourselves, but it was not until we sought help through Sleep Well Children that we were finally able to see progress! The anxiety and stress we felt each night was replaced with a sense of empowerment that we could help our son learn the skills needed for healthy sleep. These experiences inspired me to want to help more families to sleep well night after night.
My name is Jaimie Burns and I am a Certified Pediatric Sleep Specialist and so grateful to be a member of the Sleep Well Children Consultation team! I have a Psy. D. in Clinical Psychology and I have been working with individuals and families for over ten years in multiple settings. After my own positive experiences working with a sleep consultant, I became trained through a combination of the Sleep Sense training program and the Sleep Well Children Certification Program.
